What things have I missed blogging about recently??

There are a couple of problems with me blogging. Well at least when you're entire blog is just an ongoing self-centered dialog of one person's relatively uneventful and monotonous life. See my blog STARTED as an informative blog about my upcoming surgeries with lots of detail, my experiences etc. I did throw in some personal non-related stories - but mostly it was useful. Now... not so much.

The Problems:

*Does anyone even read this thing? I mean I guess I could consider it a journal and just be okay that *I* can look back and remember the fun things I've done. BUT there is some comfort knowing that others appreciate my narcissistic self proclamations and stories.

*Even if they read it, do they care? When I was younger I wanted to be famous. I thought I was special. I wanted to be a writer, an entertainer. Not really an actress/singer/model fame - but a fame because of me fame. I find myself amusing and insightful. I enjoy writing and talking (I may be a bit of a loudmouth). I read other bloggers who have become famous and I admire them so much. I thought I had that charisma. I am starting to think it's just me who thinks that.

So to my few blog followers. Leave me a message. Even if it is just to say "hi." Help feed my narcissistic self please. Kthanksloveyou!!

Some things I've missed and not blogged about. Not going to do it now either really... but here are some links with pictures.

Two weeks ago today on July 11, 2009 Josh's sister got married. Here is her rehearsal from that Friday night. And then here are the wedding pictures and the reception pictures. Taking wedding photos is HARD to do. I don't have another wedding for a while to practice with, but hopefully I'll start figuring out how to use this camera. *sigh*

What else have I missed?

Well - my grandparents anniversary (july 9), my parents anniversary (july 18), and Josh's littlest sister's 9th birthday (july 14) - which we celebrated at his middle sister's wedding on the 11th.

Ummmm... lots of dinners at Jason and Kandice's new house. Wings with friends. Tuesday night Zumba classes.

Oh, and my final appointment with the plastic surgeon until April 20TEN. Lol. It seems so far away. He said all looks well, blah blah blah. Mammogram next April. Ugh. And unless I have questions or issues, he'll see me then. It seems so weird that pre-surgery this was such a big deal. And although it's still a big deal (I still sometimes find clothes I used to wear that I haven't since and it's like "whoa") it doesn't even really feel like I had surgery. I mean I recovered so quickly with such little pain... I expected more pain as a reminder. Nope.

Although - there is a little pain currently. My boobs are sore. But more like period sore than any other pain. So that's excellent.

Okay, off to get ready for a bike race today. Wish Josh luck!!

Why would one do renovations on a NEW house?!? Idiots. Oh and Happy (belated) 4th of July

Remember in my last post I said I would do this post the day after. Yep... or like 4 days after. Whatever. We've been doing the stupid renovations okay? :-P

Wednesday night wasn't all relaxing with our anniversary and such. We also had to make a home depot run. Why? So we can buy MORE things to finish our downstairs.

Now when I say finish, the downstairs WAS finished. It had walls, flooring, doors, etc. There was NOTHING wrong with downstairs. See? Normally there is a bench under that shelf, but otherwise it is finished. BUT (this is a HUGE but) see that door on the left side that is just cracked a little bit?? THAT door is like the door to Narnia. It can create a whole other world when you open it. And unfortunately that whole new world makes the OTHER world (aka the entryway) look... boring.

How do you remedy boring? Well you decide to rip up the flooring and install TILE!! Yay!! Well actually, you convince your husband to do these things... but really it's a great idea (insert eye roll here - sorry Josh). The key to this convincing is to start out helping.
But in the end Josh ended up doing 99% of the work.
So after all the scraping and such it was time to actually physically lay the tile. We had NO idea what we were in for.

Day 2: July 3, 2009
It started out fun and interesting, the tiles looked so shiny and fabulous. We started laying out the "pattern" and all was well. Then Josh started using the adhesive, and trying to line things up... and all hell broke loose.
This shows the first tile all straight and level in place.
Tile #2, leveled, looking good... Josh checked and double checked it's levelness, even lines, etc.
This is the last picture of the day. The adhesive looks yummy right?? *sigh* There was a lot of frustration after those few tiles. The cameras were turned off as the subject matter was too intense to be captured on film. Lol. And FYI, if anyone out there has this brilliant idea to tile themselves. RENT A WET SAW. Just trust me.

Life would have been much more pleasant had the husband not tried to save a few bucks (that we spent in the end anyway...).

Needless to say the tiling did not get done...

On to the FOURTH of JULY!! That morning we spent helping friend's move into their first house. We'd spent a little bit of time there prior helping them take down wallpaper, clean the kitchen, rip up the carpet (to find hardwood floors that are in great shape - kind of jealous), etc.

Saturday morning we got up and helped them move from 9:30ish until about 3. After some showering it was back to their place for food, friends, fireworks and wiffle ball (I just couldn't make that one an "f"). I can't get any of these pictures to upload. *sigh* Oh well. Maybe another post (which I always say and never do...).

Sunday we were back to tiling. This time renting the wet saw late that evening and using it that night and Monday.

Tuesday Josh worked all day but finished the last of the tile that night!! Wednesday Mom and Ian came down and spent the night. Thursday we took them to the airport and then Thursday night (well last night) Josh and I did the grouting. Well he put it down and I wiped it up.
Finished tile, no grout.
The mixing of the grout.
And grout application.
This wasn't as much fun as it looked like but it's DONE. Oh wait... not really.

I got up this morning to find an email from Josh. "What do you think of the grout color today?"

I went downstairs. That beautiful medium gray grout is now... white? Well super light gray.

*sigh*

We'll have to figure that mess out later.

For now we have a rehearsal dinner tonight, wedding (yes another one) tomorrow at 10AM. Then reception and then the Iron Hill Twilight Crit in West Chester. THEN staying with friends that night and coming home Sunday sometime.

I am unfortunately missing what I know will be an awesome get together in NYC with my favorite MM nesties on Sunday. BOOOOOOOOOOO.

But it's NOT Memorial Day!!

I was born Memorial Day weekend 1982.  It was a Saturday.  When Memorial Day weekend rolls around and it's NOT my birthday weekend I feel all out of whack.  It's like the whole world is off it's rocker.  Ha!  Then again - maybe it's just me.  *sigh*

This past "Memorial Day" weekend was busy again.  Saturday we had a WEDDING.  Wow, haven't heard about one of those in a while huh?

I got to take my new camera to the wedding though.  Wow.  Love it!!  Have some preview pictures.

And here are the rest of the pictures.  Anyone like the cupcake tower?  Hmmmm?  That was OURS from our wedding!!  Ha.  Now the happy couple has the lovely chore of pushing it off to someone else.  THAT was the agreement.  They could have it free of charge, but they have to get rid of it afterwards.

I was an excellent photographer if I do say so myself (for being an amateur with a new camera - ha!).  The wedding was lovely, the reception was wonderful and then we ran errands.  I am not a huge fan of morning/early afternoon weddings (sorry JB and Whit!!).  I just feel like I should DO something afterwards since we were done by like 3:30, but it was post a WEDDING and so I felt like bleh.  And tired.  But then I realized I needed a bathing suit for the beach on Sunday, so we just did a *little* running (errands, not actual running.  i do not run.).

SUNDAY was beach day with the LADIES.  Kandice, Suzy and I took a little road trip to wildwood, nj.  It just so happened to be the kite festival, which was entertaining.  The beach itself was a total bust.  Cold, cloudy and WINDY.  Yuck.  We managed to entertain ourselves though.

Lol.  Nice pictures huh?  Here are a few more.

Yesterday was Memorial Day, but it just wasn't.  For serious.

Today is Tuesday.  I had a doctor appointment, met Josh for lunch, came home and it's been laundry-o-rama at our house.  B-O-R-I-N-G.  And rain.  Miserable.

Birthday is Friday.  This should be my birthday week.  I should be all excited.  I'm not though.  Maybe it's the weather.  *pout*

Stitches be Gone!

Today was another plastic surgeon follow up on the boobs.  It was 5 weeks since surgery this past Friday.  I can't believe it's been that long!

Everything looks fantastic.  He took some pictures since I won't see him for TWO months.  Wow.

Unfortunately I had two stitches poking through.  He clipped them both.  Thank goodness it didn't hurt as much this time!  Last time I almost cried.  I made lots of faces this time and the nurse laughed at them, but it really wasn't bad.

From now on, I can remove them myself by just tugging on them.  *gag*  The stitches inside should have dissolved enough to let these pop throughs just be removed through pulling.  We'll see if I do it myself or call him to do it.

I'm happy with the results, he's happy with the results and all is well.

Here are some PICTURES:

Here are the previous posts that had pictures.

I have another picture to share.

I want these.  I found them at Target.  They have LADY BUGS on them and we live on LADY BUG lane.  Lololol.  I thought it was cute.  Whatever.

Oh, and yesterday was another busy day.  Josh's sister is getting married in July and her MOH threw a surprise bridal shower in the Reading area.  I drove there and Josh RODE his bike (his plan was to get there when it was wrapping up - he succeeded well on the timing).  It took him about 4 hours and he went about 70+ miles.  Pure craziness.  It was WINDY and somewhat COLD here.  Silly boy.

Here is a self portrait of me.
I can buy DRESSES now.  AND I look cute in them.  I think this will be my get up for the wedding we'll be at this Saturday.

Shower was good.  I was tired though.  After we got home last night it was CRASH time.  *yawn*

Tomorrow they are coming to pave our driveway.  Fun.  No parking on it for FIVE days.  Ugh.

My other reduction surgery friend will be two weeks post op tomorrow.  She looks so flippin fantastic.  WOW.

Another friend is scheduled for July 2 for surgery.  ANOTHER friend is getting it done June 22nd.

I did not start this epidemic.  Someone else did, but I LOVE how supportive we are all to each other.

Oh and for my close friends, I updated the naked boob pictures too.

I ate breakfast while he threw up...

Nope, not Josh.  My brother.  He's 15.

Since childhood he's had some pretty odd/severe respiratory problems.  They aren't typical and have caused lots of doctors appointments and scratching heads.  Yeah, we are more alike than I think anyone would have liked.  Different medical abnormalities, same freakishness.  *sigh*

So anyways, he tends to have some morning phlegm problems.  Not too bad usually, but brushing teeth is always a fun adventure.  Now, I have a super sensitive gag reflex too.  Brushing teeth has never been my strong suit either.  BUT, add to that gag reflex a copious amount of phlegm and drainage and it can become a fun little game.

Saturday morning I was downstairs with mom eating breakfast.  I was having fruit loops.  Yum.  I hear the little brother upstairs in the bathroom with the door open and all of the sudden the retching begins.  He gags, retches, heaves and just makes some awful sounds.

Mom and I continued eating our cereal.  Apparently we have no problems with puking.  Ugh.  Again - I get it from my momma.  She did yell up once he was done asking if he was doing okay.  He was.  He came down and ate breakfast then.

Puking and rallying is important in college.  My brother will be a CHAMP at this.  I promise.  Watch out college parties.  This kid is going to go in like his sister and drink with you due to our keen ability to puke when needed to keep going.

Having nothing to do with drinking, puking or rallying (well at least not the last two, I had a drink close to me in this picture), is one of my favorite "recent" pictures of us.  Actually, it will be 3 years ago this July 1, but I still love it.  It's the morning of Josh and I's wedding.

My brother is such a fantastically great kid.  My whole family is fantastic when they aren't driving me nuts.  I think it's more that they drive me nuts because they remind me of all the things I do that I don't like.  Make sense?

Yep.

April Showers Bring May Flowers

and weddings.  And... more showers?

So this past weekend was a BUSY weekend.  I feel like I say that a lot.  Eh, well.  It's the life I lead.

These were the events to choose from this past weekend:
1. Friend's wedding on Sat at 1:30PM in York, PA
2. Josh's cousin's wedding on Sat in Kentucky
3. YCP alumni thingy that some OOT friends would be IN town for
4. Josh's cousin's wedding on Saturday at 4PM in Boiling Springs, PA with reception and after party
5. Turkey Hill Bike Race on Saturday

We ended up choosing numbers 1, 4 and 5.

UNFORTUNATELY the non-swine flu sickness I am suffering from really ruined all my fun and plans.  Well not really, but I felt so sick I did not enjoy myself as much as I wanted.  Boo hiss.

My Saturday went as follows:
7:30AM - wake up and shower
8AM - pack, curl hair, pin curls up so they keep, etc
9:30AM - leave for Turkey Hill
10:22AM - the cat 3/4 race starts *Josh had ridden his bike in the morning and met me there*

We saw a friend who had run the 10K and won it!!  I took some pictures of him.

After 4 laps we had to go though since we had to get home.

More pictures can be seen HERE
11:30AM - leave race and head home
Noon - Josh showers, I finish my hair and makeup, we get dressed, pack the car
1PM - leave for the first wedding
1:30PM - start of first wedding for the day
    the groom
(yes I KNOW the pictures are crappy.  I have a point and shoot and it is not low light indoor friendly.)
    the happy couple

A friend and I.  We were just the cutest wedding guests there!
More pictures HERE
2:45PM - wedding is over and we have to LEAVE before the reception.  Off to wedding number 2 of the day!
*note I was feeling crummy (blowing my nose every like 2 minutes and coughing a LOT), but I managed my typical car pictures.

3:40PM arrive at second ceremony site.
4PM wedding ceremony #2
the bride and her dad peeking around the corner before the processional (this is Josh's cousin Ann)
The bride and groom saying their vows.  Awwww...  love them!
6:30PM cocktail hour started

8:30PM The reception began!  Unfortunately it had already been a long day and I was crashing.  I didn't take many pictures at all, my socialization was nil and I didn't even really dance.  Boo.  I just felt crummy.  I hope to see "my" (aka Ann and John's) friends again soon since I barely talked to anyone.  Here are a few pictures though.
The first dance.

The husband and I.

There MAY have been a LITTLE dancing (Aunt Barb started a congo line).
Other than a few slow songs with Josh this was my ONLY dancing.  Boo.

Josh broke it down though with his little sister.  So cute!!

The bride, bridesmaids (LOVE these girls) and the groom peaking in behind.

The final picture of the reception.  Me and the bride!
More pictures HERE
Here are just some pictures of me at the end of the night (this blog is about ME you know).  The fully outfit.  I loved it.  The hair band I made myself.  A headband from Target, some fake flowers from Michael's and some hot glue.  Walla.  Lol.

Midnight - we headed home.  We were supposed to share a room with Josh's cousin Scott and his date, but I was feeling miserable (the pictures are VERY deceiving as I can put on a good face).

Sunday Josh and I SLEPT.  And relaxed.  And Josh went into work for a while.  We grabbed some chinese food when he was done and relaxed some more at home.  Lol.

It's Monday currently and it's RAINING.  Ugh. It was 90 in April, it's mid 50's and raining in May.  *sigh*

Tomorrow is Tuesday and my friend is getting her BREAST REDUCTION tomorrow.  YEAH!!  Good luck Whitney!  You are definitely in my thoughts.  :-)

*hugs and kisses*
